gettheaudience.com is serious about protecting your online privacy. This Privacy Statement explains our views and practices concerning privacy, and how they may pertain to you as a user of our website.

“You” or “Your” means you as a user of the gettheaudience.com website or of the app.gettheaudience.com software as a service (SaaS) application. “We” or “Our” or “Us” means Matthias Bohlen. “Our site” means gettheaudience.com or app.gettheaudience.com.

SECTION 1 – WHAT DO WE DO WITH YOUR DATA?

When you register on our site, or when you purchase something from our site, as part of the registration or buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name and email address (for exact details, see the section below called “storage of personal data”). This enables us to both fulfill and support the services you purchase.

When you browse our site, we also automatically receive information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system so we can better improve the experience for all our users. (Example: When a bug in our software occurs only in a certain type of browser, we’ll find out).

Email marketing: With your permission, we may send you emails about new product features, free and premium content (i.e. blog posts, videos, reports/whitepapers, etc.), and special events.

When you provide us with personal information to sign up for our service, verify your credit card, or place an order, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.

If we ask for your personal information for a newsletter subscription or marketing messages, we will ask you directly for your expressed consent and provide you with an opportunity to withdraw your consent. You may withdraw your consent at any time by clicking on an “unsubscribe” link which is offered at the bottom of every email we send.

During signup, we also ask for permission to learn automatically from your click behavior on our site. Example: When we see that you signed up for the service but never use it much, we’ll send you an email asking you what’s wrong and what we can do to support you. We also use this information to detect the need for new features and design changes. We do this to optimize your user experience on our site (happy customers are a priority for us).

You may withdraw your consent to all this anytime, by contacting our data protection officer via the contact details provided below.

SECTION 3 – YOUR RIGHTS

Right of revocation

You are entitled to revoke a given consent to the collection and use of your personal data at any time with effect for the future.

Right to information

You are entitled to request information regarding the data stored in relation to your person or to your pseudonym. Upon your request the information can be provided electronically.

Right to correction, blocking or deletion

You are entitled to request the correction, blocking or deletion regarding the data stored in relation to your person. Insofar as legal obligations prevent us from deleting your personal data, your data will be blocked and only made accessible for the purposes of compulsory legal regulations.

To correct your personal data, please use the “user profile” function that you find behind your profile image at the top right of the screen in our web application.

To exercise the above mentioned rights to revocation, information correction, blocking or deletion, please contact our data protection officer via the contact details provided below. The exercising of your rights is free of charge.

SECTION 4 – DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL DATA

We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service. Also, if our site is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that they may continue to sell and support our products and services.

IMPORTANT:

We do not sell nor rent your personal information to any third parties who have their own agenda, including advertisers, strategic partners or vendors. Again, we take your privacy very seriously.

We do use third-party services (see below in a separate section with that title) to help us run the servers, to support and help you in case of software bugs, and to automate transactional or marketing messages that we send to you because we believe that you will be interested.

SECTION 5 – STORAGE OF PERSONAL DATA

We store your following personal data in our database, in order to be able to provide our service to you:

  • Full name (e.g. “John Smith”)
  • Preferred name (“John”)
  • Email address (”john@example.com“)
  • Organisation name (“Acme Inc.“)

Payment data

We will charge a monthly or yearly fee for your usage of our service. To be able to charge credit cards, we will use an external shopping cart solution. At the moment, this payment solution is not yet integrated into our software. We will update this privacy policy as soon as payments have started to work.

SECTION 6 – THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

However, certain third-party service providers, such as cloud-based CRM or customer support systems, payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your transactions.

For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies, so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.

This is the current list of third-party services that we use:

In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located in a different jurisdiction than either you or us. So if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.

As an example, if you are located in Canada and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in Europe, then your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under European legislation.

SECTION 7 – SECURITY

We have taken extensive technical and operational precautions in order to protect personal data from unauthorized access and misuse. Our security procedures are monitored regularly and updated in line with technological progress.

SECTION 8 – COOKIES

Our site utilizes cookies to create a more customized experience for our users and customers. For example, we use a login cookie so members do not have to re-enter their username and password each time they return to our site. We also use tracking cookies (e.g. Splitbee and Chatwoot, the latter is hosted on our own servers) to aid in measuring and tracking where our website traffic is coming from, to track the performance and correctness of our site, and to chat online with You for customer support purposes.

By using this site, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your state or province of residence.

SECTION 10 – CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.

Last change: See top of page.
